MICRO-NEEDLING (DR PEN)

PLEASE REFER TO PRICE LIST

WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING (DR PEN) & WHAT DOES IT DO?

The Derma Pen Micro-needling is indicated for the treatment of scars, uneven skin tone, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, botchy and treats wrinkles, all  which are varied in size, such as acne scars and stretch marks.

Skin needling (Micro-needling) is a procedure that involves puncturing the skin multiple times with small needles attached to a cylindrical Dr Pen devise (Disposable Needle head) to induce collagen growth and improve atrophic (depressed) acne scarring and to treat other skin conditions.

The objective is to stimulate or puncture the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, smooth skin and promote scar or stretch mark reduction through the skins natural wound healing process.

For the medical grade level application of skin needling, the target of the needles and penetration is the upper dermis called the intermediate reticular dermis.

The effects of skin needling differ according to needle gauge, length and the manual pressure that’s used with the Dr Pen Micro-needling devise. Therefore the level of skin invasion and subsequent inflammation on the skin can vary from gentle stimulation to piercing the skin and drawing fluids, i.e., blood and lymph. The blood platelets from the blood heal the surface of the skin, increasing oxygen and blood flow through to the surface of the skin. This give you a youthful and skin glowing appearance. This firms and tones and tightens the skin.
